On Sundays, I open a book to the page where I last stopped reading (I read several at once and keep bookmarks in them…), or I simply ask a question, open a book, and share what I find here if it resonates with me.
From the book *The Song of the Bird* by Anthony de Mello—a tale by Attar of Nishapur:
Who am I?
A lover arrived at his beloved’s house and knocked gently on the door.
“Who is it?” the beloved asked from within.
“It is I,” the lover replied.
“Then go away,” she said. “There is no room for both you and me in this house.”
The rejected lover went off into the desert, where he meditated for months, reflecting on his beloved’s words. Finally, he returned and knocked on the door once more.
“Who is it?” “It is you.” Upon hearing this, the door opened immediately.
